Multiple Sclerosis is a debilitating autoimmune disease which attacks the central nervous system.

What does that mean? Who does it affect? What can we do about it?
:thumb124773511:
MS attacks the nerve cells damaging them. Once damaged nerves are unable to trigger; when a nerve cannot trigger information cannot be sent around the body.

MS can cause numerous symptoms ranging from vision problems, muscle spasms and weakness, coordination and balance issues, speech problems, muscle pain, depression to name a few. I was once made this comparison about living with MS, put socks on your hands, put glasses on wrapped in tape, tie weights on your limbs just to start.

MS affects all ages from childe to elderly and people who battle MS in their daily lives need your support as much as they need their own strength.
:thumb130325823:
There are treatments for MS but they are not cures. Those suffering from acute relapses often require high doses delivered intravenously. They may require shots as often as daily. These shots leave depressions in the skin from frequently damaging the skin cells around the injection site.

This is just a brief introduction to what MS is, how it affects those who fight it and what they have to go through. They don’t need to stand alone though. I took up cycling this year specifically to do the MS Rona Rides.

I will be participating in all 5 rides in Ontario and the first one kicks off in less than 24 hours. I'll be riding a total of 650km.
I have a goal of raising $5000 for the MS Society. This money is used for research into treatments and more importantly, research into a cure. Together we can be a beacon of light on the horizon.

Dauntingly Disapointed
Well, last year just after Canadian Thanksgiving was easily the best week for autumn photography. I was super stoked for it this year because back in July I decided to take it off. I planed to be all over southern Ontario around where I live. Well this autumn is balls, its totally bunk. There are beautiful trees, but not where I need them in a photographic sense. Ill pass two miles of green/brown icky trees, then there will be one beautiful red maple, with no good angles, power cables all around, houses in the background.
When I head out into the forest areas the leaves just arnt changing yet. The forest for the most part is just green
Photography Challenge
Alrighty, so work has been slaughtering my time, but its great. I complain sometimes about the workload but the people I work with are amazing and the firm is very supportive of every problem we face on a daily schedule so its alright.
The only thing I'm unhappy about is the amount of photography and dA activity I've been getting done. So I'm setting myself a goal. I want to upload every other week, AND I want it to be in each category of photography (as in a new cat every other week). I feel its a great challenge cause I can get back out there, but I can also push myself hard. I want to study the field for a week and come up with idea
MS - please give generously!
This summer I am embarking in a 650km journey. I will be riding my bicycle to raise awareness and funding for the MS Society. The rides will take place over weekends in July, August and September. As part of my efforts to raise awarness I recently published this article.
I am not a cyclist by history, I specifically picked up the sport this summer to do these rides. It has been a big endeavor as I have been training 2-4x per week as well as spending most of my free time trying to fundraise.
I am calling on you now dA so please do not let this shout out fall on deaf ears. MS is a very debilitating disease with no known cure. I have a
New Profile Coming
Hey all, I just thought I would drop a line to explain some of my coming absence. I will still be on dA regularly, but you probably wont SEE activity. No uploads, faves, comments etc.
I'm working on some projects, I'm going to revamp my page to add some functionality, I'm not a subscriber, yet. So I have to use a backwards method to accomplishing some of it, but hopefully it works out well. Because of social and work life its probably going to take me close to 2 weeks to get everything done. When it is done youll see a flood of journals go up, all faves removed, and collections, then RE ADDED. I just wanted to get my stuff organized int
